Providing a safe space to explore your grief after your pet has passed away, with a qualified pet bereavement counsellor
A non-judgemental and safe space to explore your feelings after a beloved pet has died. Helping you navigate through this difficult time and lending an ear to hear about your personal experience.
Luckily, there is growing awareness that people can be severely affected when losing a pet, and so people are feeling more confident about reaching out to get the support they need.
There is no shame in feeling devasted when a pet dies. This can be a reflection of the unique bond that the owner had with their pet. And it doesn't matter what sort of pet they were. People can form strong bonds with all types of fluffy/furry/scaley/feathered creatures.
We have evolved as a species alongside animals for thousands of years. They can feel like an integral part of our lives. So it is no surprise to feel as sad (or even sadder) than when a human companion passes away. The unconditional love we get from our pets can sometimes be hard to get from elsewhere.
You have shared some of your life with them, your routines will have evolved around them, and I'm sure, you will probably have had many conversations with them (even if they didn't reply).
As a pet owner and a former pet care business owner, I am very aware of how attached people can be to their pets. I have heard people talk about losing a dog, for example, quickly followed by; ''i know it was just a dog, but...''
This got me thinking about the stigma attached to this particular type of loss, and how I may be able to help.
WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS SERVICE?
Any pet owner who has lost a pet (for example a dog, cat, horse, rabbit etc) and is struggling after they have passed away
Any pet owner who is shocked by the depths of their grief after losing a pet
Any pet owner who is feeling isolated after losing a pet, or finding it hard to adjust
