Mind
The counselling model I use is mainly person-centred, but I also draw from others such as CBT, psychodynamic and transactional analysis if I see that it may help. I also work creatively, if I feel this may be beneficial.
My personal philosophy is to explore issues deeply, as this can help to stop the unwanted issues from recurring and having a negative impact on the way we think.
I am also passionate about helping women cope better through difficult life stages, and wanted to be part of the holistic community helping to support women, and build knowledge and understanding about the difficulties experienced in menopause, having done a diploma in Menopause Coaching.
I have a qualification in Pet Bereavement Counselling. enabling me to offer support for grieving pet owners and provide coping skills through their grief. I have extensive experience for bereavement counselling in general, having provided counselling at Herriot Hospice and Teesside Hospice.
I also offer counselling for relationships, having recent qualifications in this to meet growing demand, recognised by COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists).
I regularly complete training courses for personal and professional development, and to gain new insight and keep up to date with research in different issues, which helps hugely with my client work.
